At Boxer Welfare Scotland we have an adoption procedure in place for rehoming our rescue dogs. This process helps us to match you with a dog that will suit you and your family and make sure that the adoption is successful.
We ask that all potential adopters fill in our online application form, which asks for some information about you and your household. Once we have received the form, one of our adoption coordinators will give you a call to talk over your application.
If your home is a good match for one of our dogs, we will arrange a home check with a BWS volunteer. The home check will allow us to check that your home is a suitable environment for the dog.
After a successful home check, and once we have found a dog that we think matches you, we will arrange for you to visit the dog. All family members including any other dogs must to attend so that everyone can meet the dog and make sure they are the right fit for your family. At the meeting, the volunteer will take you on a walk so that you can get to know the dog so we advise you to leave your high heels at home!! This also gives you the opportunity to ask the volunteer a bit more about the dog as well as any other questions you may have. If all goes well you will be able to take the dog home with you that day. We ask that the donation fee is paid on the day and that the adoption agreements are signed before taking the dog home.
The adoption agreement specifies the terms and conditions of adopting a BWS dog and every adopter must agree and sign the documents. We offer a lifetime of backup and support to all adopters and if you have any questions or concerns at any time you are welcome to e-mail us or give us a call to have a chat.
If you are interested in adopting one of our boxers and would like to talk to one of our coordinators, please give us a call on 01224 515101.
