How to Adopt from Boxer Welfare Scotland
At Boxer Welfare Scotland we have an adoption procedure in place for rehoming our rescue dogs. This process helps us to match you with a dog that will suit you and your family and make sure that the adoption is successful.
We ask that all potential adopters fill in our online application form, which asks for some information about you and your household. Once we have received the form, one of our adoption coordinators will give you a call to talk over your application.
If your home is a good match for one of our dogs we will arrange a home check with a BWS volunteer. The home check will allow us to check that your home is a suitable environment for the dog.
After a successful home check, and we have found a dog that we think matches you, we will arrange for you to visit the dog at the kennels. All family members including any other dogs have to attend so that everyone can meet the dog and make sure it is the right fit for the family. At the meeting the volunteer will take you on a walk so that you can get to know the dog, so its advised to leave the high heels at home. It also gives you the opportunity to ask the volunteer a bit more about the dog as well as any other questions you may have. If all goes well you will be able to take the dog home with you that day. We ask that the £250 donation is paid on the day and the adoption agreements are signed before taking the dog home.
The adoption agreement specifies the terms and conditions of adopting a BWS dog and every adopter must agree and sign the documents.
We offer a lifetime of backup and support to all adopters. If you have any questions or concerns at any time you are welcome to e-mail us or give us a call to have a chat.
