This is my blog’s first birthday! How exciting. I was waiting at the letterbox for all my fan mail this morning but I think the postie must have gotten lost? Mum says that not all boxers are as clever as me and can’t write, she is probably right, I am one in a million.
In my last blog I was telling you about special Sophie who needed a new home. Well guess what??! She went to her new Mum and Dad last weekend! I was so excited, Mum said she is such a beautiful girl (although not as beautiful as me of course!)
Mum said that, not only have we rehomed lots of dogs this month, but we have also had a great month for fundraising. She said that all the volunteers worked really hard at Falkirk Pets at Home and raised over £1,400 for us! I got all excited but Mum said that it’s not to spend on biscuits and new beds for me, it’s actually to help look after all the dogs we have in kennels as it costs a lot of money.
Finally the summer is coming and that means I get to go and visit lots of car shows. I know people think car shows are all about looking at the old cars, but I know that people are coming along just to see me, I can’t help being famous and gorgeous.
If you see a big camper van with the Boxer Welfare Scotland logo on it, please come and say hello. I love meeting people and I am sure you will be very happy to meet me (oh and George and Millie will be there too, but they aren’t as special as me!) Boxer Welfare Scotland is having a stand with lots of cars at Scottish Vintage Bus Museum in Lathalmond on 21st June, my Dad is taking his Westfield.
Well the sun is out and the garden is calling, I am having great fun finding lots of new places to dig, sshhh don’t tell Mum. I think I shall go and chase a cat around the garden or something, it’s so hard being a celebrity.

I was so excited when I heard we were going to the Glasgow Vet School Rodeo again this year. This is the third year running that Boxer Welfare Scotland has been invited to come along and have a share in the proceeds. Unfortunately Mum said we couldn’t go as it would be a very long journey and day for us and that it would be too stressful, but she promised to bring us back some treats, so I let her go.
Being serious for a moment, I have to point out that these events are mainly to help people understand exactly what Boxer Welfare Scotland does and to help find homes for boxers who need them. I remember needing my home and wondering if anyone would ever love me how I should be loved. I also remember feeling so happy when I knew I was staying with my Mum & Dad and George and Millie. Even when I chew my bed, my Mum still loves me and that’s how it should be. I really hope poor Sophie can find her new home soon too as she looks so beautiful and is a very lovely boxer girl. Poor Sophie has a bad heart so really needs a special home.
Well what a busy month it has been for my Mum and her volunteers. There have been loads of calls for boxers to come in and they have been very busy trying to find homes for them all. Sometimes if I think hard, I can remember what it was like to need a home and I do hope that all my boxer friends who have had to come to us find a home soon!
Well February hasn’t been too good for me. Being a typical boxer, I get lumps and I had to have another three taken off this month. Because I lived in a cage for so long, I get VERY upset at the vets, so Mum has to come and get me as soon as I wake up, otherwise I make a lot of noise! As you can see though, having the lumps removed hasn’t stopped me being beautiful! I really am the most handsome BWS boxer there is!
Just in case any of you are wondering exactly how things work at Boxer Welfare Scotland, I thought I would show you a picture of me in my Christmas cracker hat! I think that pretty much shows you who is in charge around here! Of course I treat all my volunteers well, as long as they bring me lots of lovely treats.
Four years ago today my Mum decided that it would be a good idea to set up a rescue! She had been involved in rescue for over 10 years, but felt that a rescue charity was needed in Scotland, specifically for us boxers.
I can’t believe that it is nearly Hallowe’en! That means it’s nearly Bonfire Night and then Christmas!! Yipee, new toys for me!!
Wooohooo we went away for the weekend again!! I love going away as I get a chance to run around in new fields and meet lots of new people!
Before I forget, I must say a huge good luck to Conor Stephens who is doing a bungee jump on 20th September at Xscape in Braehead at Glasgow.
I am so excited, look how smart I look in my brand new hoodie!!
Well it’s just not fair, I have been missing out on so much fun that everyone has been having at Boxer Welfare Scotland.
These walks are happening once a month and if you would like to join in, just pop along to our forum and join in the chat and find out when the next one is happening either at Cathkin Braes in Glasgow or the Falkirk Wheel.
Oh I am a poorly, sore boxer girl just now, although you wouldn’t think it to look at me! I had to have an operation today on my leg – I shall tell you why!
I had to tell you about all the fun I had this weekend. We went to Dunfermline so Dad could see some more of those old cars, but I stayed with Mum and lots of friends came to see me us – well me really!
Last weekend we had the Rouken Park Gala. We couldn’t go because we were travelling down to Dunfermline, but Mum says everyone worked really really really hard and got Boxer Welfare Scotland £425. That is wonderful, because I know there are lots of other boxers who need help and this will help everyone find them new homes. I hope they are all as lucky as me, even if they aren’t as pretty as me, because I am very special you know!
Well I have been very busy helping my Mum with all the rescue work she has been doing. There have been so many dogs coming in recently that my head is spinning with all of the names! My Mum says her head is spinning too, but she says that’s because I am such a toad!!
Well, how lucky am I??! I got to go away this weekend to Bridge of Allan in our new toy – woohooo! Dad had a car show to go to and I was very kind and let George and Millie come too!
collect all the goodies, it was ever so nice of him.
Hello Everyone, my name is Lucy and I was rescued by Boxer Welfare Scotland in 2007. I was so gorgeous and cute (well that’s what I think) that my foster Mum, Lorraine Cumming, couldn’t bear to part with me, so I became part of her family.
