Why Adopt a Rescue Boxer?
Many boxers end up in rescues or pounds because of the lack of understanding of the breed. Some may be ex breeding dogs and have had little or no contact with the outside world or humans and some are just no longer required when a younger baby comes along. So many boxers are lost in rescue and are looking for new homes and families to love them.
These rescue boxers deserve just as much love and attention as the cute puppy advertised in your local paper. Some of these are being advertised by less than legitimate breeders and some are just puppy farmers out to make a quick profit. Most of these puppies will probably end up with boxer rescue anyway, as most breeders do not make sure their puppies are going to safe and secure homes.
Adopting a rescue boxer gives hope to a lost soul and breathes live back into a sad heart. A rescued boxer truly is a grateful friend and loving companion for life.

The Boxer Breed
Most of the boxers in rescue are there because their owners had little knowledge or understanding of the breed. Before you decide on having a boxer, do your research and learn more about the breed. Make sure you are ready to bring one of these wonderful dogs into your home.
Boxers have an incredible amount of energy. They also have terrible wind and snore a lot!
Boxers are a very friendly and affectionate breed and are very "in-your-face". They will oftenl follow you from room to room, just to make sure they aren't missing out on anything. A boxer will crawl onto your lap, jump up on you and just love to give those sloppy, wet, boxer kisses. Being a "dog person" is a must for the boxer owner!
They are absolutely dependant upon the companionship of their families and it is common to for boxers to suffer from separation anxiety when left alone. With this in mind, boxers should not be left unaccompanied for hours on end.
If you feel you have the time to give to a highly intensive, exuberant, bouncy, energetic 32kg lump of pure muscle then great. If not, then prehaps a boxer really isn't the right dog for you.
ARE YOU READY TO ADOPT?
If you can HONESTLY answer yes to all of these things then go ahead and get your boxer.
There are few joys greater than the companionship and affection of a boxer.
