Boxer Shorts for Boxer Dogs - 21st April
First there was Pudsey for Children In Need, then there was Red Nose Day and Sport Relief Day and now there is ....................................
Boxer Shorts for Boxer Dogs - Boxer Welfare Scotland's Fundraising Day
Ok, so it's not as catchy and most people will wonder what on earth is going on, but we have decided we would like a fundraising day where volunteers and boxer lovers anywhere could join in and do something for boxer dogs.
We have chosen 21st April as it is Lucy, our Mascot's, gotcha day. Lucy came to us in a terrible state after having spent the first two years of her life in a small, squalid crate. She epitomizes the work we do at Boxer Welfare Scotland and not long after moving into her new home, we adopted her as our mascot and she became part of the Boxer Welfare Scotland heartbeat.
So what do we hope to achive on Boxer Shorts for Boxer Dogs day? Well bringing in extra funds is obviously the core of any fundraising, but to also have a day we could use annually to raise awareness for our chairty's work for boxer dogs.
Here are some ideas of things you could do for Boxer Shorts for Boxer Dogs Day (all while wearing a snazzy pair of boxer shorts!) See how Amanda kicked off Boxers for Boxers in 2010
- Come as you please/Dress down Friday at work or school. Ask if you can wear boxer shorts for sponsorship or if everyone can wear boxer shorts and donate £1 etc.
- Bake something delicious, like boxer dog cookies or gingerbread men wearing boxer shorts and sell them at work/school etc
- Take part in a sponsored walk - dogs and owners can wear boxer shorts!
- Sponsored parachute jump/abseiling/bungee jump (sometimes the entry fee is too expensive though!)
- Climb a munro
- Shake a bucket at Tesco/ASDA/Pets at Home (get permission from branch first)
- Take a cake/teddy into work and do a "guess the weight/name" (Cake can be in shape of shorts, teddy can wear them)
- A harbour dook
- Sponsored cycle ride
Obviously these are all just a few ideas that we have come up with, but basically anyone who wants to take part can, and they can do anything they want, as long as they are wearing boxers and promote Boxer Welfare Scotland.
If you want to get invovled, simply download a sponsorship form or visit our Just Giving page (to be confirmed). Alternatively, please contact Lorraine or Karen to have a chat.
