OUR RAINBOW BRIDGE GALLERY

Here are some of Boxer Welfare Scotland's beloved rescue boxers who have sadly gone to the bridge. Our thoughts always go out to the families who have lost these precious babies.

Danny

Poor Danny went to Rainbow Bridge in June 2008. Danny was a very handsome chap and was certainly spoiled for the 6 months he was in his new home. Relax now Danny.

Coby

Tragically, poor Coby had to be let go on 13th April 08. Coby had kidney failure and was just in too much pain to go on. Our thoughts are with his family who are missing him very much.

Chleo

Chleo was rehomed in early 2005 and spent the last three years of her long life being loved and spoilt by her new family. It is far more appropriate that her Mum and Dad have their words for her here.

I lost my special friend today
the one you can't replace,
looking at her empty bed
I still can see her face.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again

Chleo Chleo

Sadly on the 10th April 08 my baby girl Chleo went to sleep to make her last journey to rainbow bridge, she will be sadly missed by all the family , we loved the time we had with her in our lives and couldn’t imagine the last 3 years without her, mummy and daddy are heartbroken and miss her soooo much ,when my nephew now 2yrs was born Chleo couldn’t wait to get to the car seat to give him kisses she was all exited when the pram came in and couldn’t wait till he was lifted for more kisses.
We will miss all the fun we had out the back door with her,  the 10yr old running about like a 2yr old, miss taking her for her long walks and how funny she can be when she needed water she would scratch at her bowls even flip them until she got our attention and I wont forget at night when she was settling down she would rumble about till she got her bed just the way she wanted it , that took quite a while sometimes.
deep in our hearts your memory is kept, to love cherish ,never forget ,you will always be in our hearts chleo, till we meet again.
Goodnight mummy’s  teddy bear x x x x x x x x x

Sadly we lost Ted in Feb 2008. Poor Ted had a large tumour on his spleen and his immune system failed on him. He was a lovely boy and his family are in our thoughts.

This handsome big boy was Alfie and we sadly lost him in June 2007. You can relax now Alfie, all is well. His playmate Buttons (brown ear) was devasted by his passing.

Tyson

Its is with a heavy heart that I type this. I am afraid Tyson has gone to the bridge.

On Thursday night he didn't look right and his Mummy and Daddy took him to the vets - it turned out Tyson had meningitis. The vets did their best but Tyson slipped away in the afternoon in his sleep.

Floyde

Floyde was brought to us from his family who could no longer look after him. He had never been off lead and a choke chain was used to walk him. The family had never had boxers before, so didn't know their characteristics and how to deal with one.

About 10 days after he came in he became very very ill with a condition called lung worm. To be honest I really thought we were going to lose him then as he was soooo thin and could hardly walk, and I dont think the vet held out much hope either. But much to everyone's surprise and delight, Floyde rallied round and went to his new home.

Unfortunatley Floyde had had several previous homes and it is thought that, somewhere in his history, he had been mistreated. This made him very anxious and nervous and he went for several people within the rescue. As a rescue we try our hardest to save any dog that comes to us, but Floyde was just so unpredictable we had to let him go.

We fought so hard to keep him and nurse him through his illness but in the end Floyde was just so scared of being abused, that he lashed out with no warning.

RIP my lil boy we all loved you and dont blame you. Run free at the bridge like you have never before.

Buster

Buster was rehomed in Feb 2007 but sadly couldn't cope with everything that had happened to him in his life. Buster went peacefully to the bridge having had a great time with his new family.

Murphy

Unfortunatley, there are some dogs that come into the rescue that we cant help. As much as we tried Murphy, was one of these dogs.

He came from Ireland and we had no history at all for him. He didn't even arrive with so much as a collar to his name!! Due to behavioural issues and his unpredictability we had to have our boy put to sleep on Friday 23rd March.

This has been the hardest thing to date that we have had to deal with, this is the bad side of rescue, when you can't save them because they are just too damaged from their previous life. I feel like I failed him, but I did the last kind thing a human can do for him.

He is now free to be a typical boxer, to run and jump and play and most of all fear no person.

Murphy

Zac

Zac was one of the first dogs to come through the rescue some two years ago. Unfortunatley on the 2nd March 2007 he made his way to Rainbow bridge at the grand ago of only three. Zac's mum is heart broken and totally lost without him.

We think it was a heart condition and he just went to sleep and had no pain which is really what we all ask for when it happens.

Zac will be sadly missed but at least he had a fab two years.
