TYLER'S STORY
Meet Tyler, she is the most gorgeous, gentle, loving and cuddly, white boxer girl that you will ever come across, but what's her story??
Well Tyler came to us in a very bad way. The day after she was dropped off with our fosterers, she was taken to the vet and was immediately put on a course of antibiotics to clear up some open sores she had on her legs. She was also vaccinated as we had no proof that she had been vaccinated in the last year. We were also advised that she had some nasty lumps that needed treating and she had very bad teeth. Her previous owners claim she is only 5, but her vet history makes her more like eleven!
In these pictures you can clearly see the sores, and if you look at her back left leg, you will see the large lump.

The following week poor Tyler went through surgery, only a week after being given up by her previous owners. She had to have SEVEN teeth removed due to decay and all her other teeth had to be cleaned etc. Her two lumps were removed and biopsies were taken. Her previous owners had not taken Tyler to a vet in nearly a year, and her open sores had been left untreated, as well as her dental conditions. The lumps had, apparently, not been noticed.
Here is poor Tyler post op, being cuddled and cared for while her new best friends, Robbie and Keira, look on and keep watch.

A week later we got the biospy results on Tyler's lumps and it turns out they are Mast Cell Tumours . This means that Tyler will now need regular check ups to keep an eye on any lumps and bumps that come along in the future.
We are now looking for a very special family to take on Tyler and her problems. Ideally, we would like her to go to a home with another dog as she totally enjoys the company of her current best friends, Keira and Robbie.

I expect that, by now, you are wondering why poor Tyler has even had to go through the trauma of looking for another home? Her soul mate died and her owners felt it unfair to keep her.
So that's Tyler's story. Now, how can you help?
We are also looking for long term sponsorship for Tyler as she is going to need constant veterinary care to help look after her Mast Cell tumours and possibly her teeth. These costs will be covered by Boxer Welfare Scotland, as she will not be able to be insured for these conditions. If you feel you are able to support Tyler in some way, please contact Lorraine on 01779 812799 or Karen on 01343 813999.
THANK YOU CRAIG AND MICHELLE!!!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Craig and Michelle (and Keira and Robbie of course) for all their love and support they have given Tyler. She has been loved, cared for and spoilt rotten in the short time she has been with them and her general level of health has improved enormously. Her sores are healing well with the help of her antibiotics, and a comfy bed, and her exercise stamina is improving vastly, although she still can't keep up with Keira and Robbie. Michelle and Craig will be looking after Tyler on long term foster until the right home is found for her and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Update November 07 - Tyler has now gone off to a new, loving forever home. She is continuing to improve and we will have some new photographs of her soon!
Here we have photos of the gorgeous Tyler in her new home with best boxer buddies Jack and Cally, plus three other four legged friends (and a few eight legged!!) We would like to say a huge thank you to her new Mum and Dad for taking her on and for keeping us up-to-date with her health. We know Tyler is not feeling at her best just now and we send her lots of love and hugs from all her "Aunties" at Boxer Welfare Scotland
